Latest news!.....

Doone Valley Holidays has now moved to the idyllic Hallslake Farm...and we're open!

Dear Friends

Colin and Jill are pleased to let you know that we have now moved our Doone Valley Holidays business to the idyllic Hallslake Farm near Lynton, having closed our business at Cloud Farm on 30th June 2010. We had held a lease on Cloud Farm for the last seven years but sadly were unable to reach an agreement with the freeholder (who wishes to use it for his own purposes) on the future, and had no choice but to remove most of the facilities we have invested in Cloud over our time there.

However...our new location overlooking the Watersmeet and Lyn valleys is even more breathtaking, beautiful and tranquil (click the big picture opposite to get a better view)! And since we wish to continue to offer our same friendly service and welcoming atmosphere, and give everyone the chance to come and enjoy this stunning landscape and all its attractions, we are now open for camping. Our facilities will initially be a little limited but perfectly adequate, with showers, toilets, fridge, freezer and washing up facilities and camping supplies on site. The spaciousness and peace of this place - we have 38 acres with headstreams running through the land - plus the superb panoramic views (you can even see the sea!) make this a very unique holiday location. As we develop Hallslake, be assured that we will be back with our normal service next season. We are putting together a new website right now, which should be available in the next two weeks, but in the meantime please telephone us on 01598 741234 (the same number as before) or continue to visit this website for all the latest information.

We have also opened the Visitor Centre at County Gate; visitor information and our famous cream teas, cakes, baguettes and snacks are now available at this beautiful location with its breathtaking views over sea and moor. This is the perfect spot to start your walks through the local valleys and moors, or just stop by for refreshments if you are already on foot or on tour!

At the same time, we are starting horse trekking along the bridleways of Bossington Hill and Selworthy, starting from our new location on North Hill overlooking Minehead; please call us on 01598 741234 for further details.

Finally, we would like to thank everyone for their support and friendship over the last seven years and look forward to welcoming you to our new location in the near future. To help you find us, click on the map opposite to open a new window with an enlarged map and see how to get to Hallslake.

Best wishes

Colin and Jill Harman
